Not Cool

Starpulse: Justin Bieber has issued a new public service announcement (PSA) in a bid to prevent bullying, insisting "there's nothing cool" about teasing helpless victims. The Baby hitmaker has previously opened up about his experiences at the hand of bullies, telling TV host Ellen Degeneres earlier this month, "Everybody goes through bullying. Everybody has, even me. On my YouTube page there are so many haters." Now Bieber has stepped up his campaign to help youngsters by recording a plea for the It Gets Better project, following a recent spate of suicides in America. He says in the clip, "Hey guys, I'm Justin Bieber. I just wanted to say there's nothing cool about being a bully and if you're getting bullied make sure to tell someone and, you know, it gets better. " And if you're a bystander make sure to step in and, you know, help out." Justin Bieber's Anti-Bullying PSA (Video)

Hollyscoop: Justin Bieber addressed the bullying problem in our country on today’s episode of Ellen, admitting that even he has had to deal with it. “Everybody goes through bullying,” he told Ellen. “Everybody has, even me. On my YouTube page, there are so many haters. They just say crazy stuff. I’m not mad, I’m 16 and I don’t have chest hair. I’m not angry about it at the moment. That will come. “People are like, ‘Look at him, he puts helium in his voice before he sings.’ You just have to laugh at yourself. It’s funny.” So how should kids stand up against bullies? “Especially if you’re a bystander, you should help out, because it could be you next.” Pretty well said, we must admit! Although, we’ve seen Justin’s entourage of dozens of bodyguards, and we’re sure they stop any bully in his tracks! Watch the video below…sounds like JB has a little crush on Selena Gomez! Justin Drew Bieber (born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian pop/R&B singer, songwriter and actor. Bieber was discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun, who came across Bieber's videos on YouTube and later became his manager. Braun arranged for him to meet with Usher in Atlanta, Georgia, and Bieber was soon signed to Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher, and then to a recording contract with Island Records offered by L.A. Reid. Bieber's debut single, "One Time", was released in 2009 and peaked in the top ten in Canada and charted in the top thirty in several international markets. His debut release, My World, followed on November 17, 2009, and was eventually certified platinum in the United States. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Bieber's first full studio release, My World 2.0, was released on March 23, 2010 and debuted at number one and within the top ten of several countries, and was certified platinum in the United States. It was preceded by the worldwide top-ten single, "Baby", in January 2010. The music video of "Baby" is currently ranked as the most viewed and most discussed YouTube video, and was the most disliked until being overtaken by Rebecca Black's song "Friday". Bieber followed-up the release of his debut album with his first headlining tour, the My World Tour, the remix albums My Worlds Acoustic and Never Say Never – The Remixes, and the 3D biopic-concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never – which had an opening weekend gross that nearly matched the record for the biggest opening weekend for a concert-film. Throughout his rise to fame, Bieber has been nominated and awarded numerous accolades, winning Artist of the Year at the 2010 American Music Awards, and being nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 53rd Grammy Awards. Bieber is considered a teen idol, and has been subject to acclaim from fans, as well as criticism and controversy from matters concerning his popularity and image (Wikipedia).

Bullying is an abusive treatment, the use of force or coercion to affect others, particularly when habitual and involving an imbalance of power. It may involve verbal harassment, physical assault or coercion and may be directed persistently towards particular victims, perhaps on grounds of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability. The "imbalance of power" may be social power and/or physical power. The victim of bullying is sometimes referred to as a "targeted individual" (Wikipedia).
